Or are you already enjoying the Norwegian countryside – fishing, hiking, cycling, reading a book or just relaxing? In turbulent times, this is almost a privilege and a reward for your everyday efforts.
Who thinks about death, marginalization and life limitations for people with disabilities in these moments?
Probably very few people.
We at Selnes Camping have decided that we want to make an effort for the disadvantaged, where we would like to involve you as a guest both directly and indirectly.
Directly in the sense that your visit to Selnes Camping gives us the opportunity to earn money. This gives us the opportunity to spend part of this income on social projects.
And it is precisely your indirect contribution to the 2024 charity event that we would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for.
The charity group Doc & Friends organizes an annual charity challenge in Lübeck, this year for the fifth time since 2019.
The event is led by nephrologist and ocean fisherman Dr. Niclas Detels.
Together with a dedicated and close-knit team led by Toygart Puschin, Olli Roters and many other fishing friends, he is responsible for promoting the event and ensuring that a wide range of sponsors are willing to contribute to this event.
Selnes Camping is the youngest sponsor on the list, and is currently in last place. That’s not a bad thing, because whoever is last here is not last – but makes a measurable contribution to the weakest among us.
We are donating one week’s fishing holiday each in Selnes in May and September 2025, which will be auctioned off to sea anglers at the Charity Challenge in Lübeck on November 16, 2024. The proceeds will go to
children’s hospice Sternenbrücke in Hamburg
which supports children with cancer in the last phase of their lives
and to the non-profit organization
Die Glücksfischer e.V. Lübeck
which supports socially disadvantaged children and young people. The organization finances fishing equipment for children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to engage in this leisure sport.
Since 2019, Doc & Friends has managed to raise over 38,000 euros for the Sternenbrücke children’s hospice.
A committed and incredibly important achievement for the weakest among us, helping to make the time these children and young people have left as enjoyable as possible.
As a result of the event, €20,000 was raised. Great news for the donors.
But especially good news just before Christmas for the most vulnerable among us.
We are happy to be able to actively support this cause. And we are also happy that you as guests at Selnes Camping can take part in this success.

We have launched a sustainable and social project at our campsite: the regular collection of deposit bottles and cans. Visitors can make their contribution by handing in their empty containers at specially set up collection points. The amount collected is then redeemed at the relevant points and passed on in full as a donation to charitable organizations. In this way, we combine environmental protection with social commitment and show that even small contributions can have a big impact.
