Dear guests of Selnes Camping,
dear visitors to our site,
the 2026 season has begun and we are ready to welcome you.
Since the beginning of April we have prepared all the cabins, got the boats ready and mowed the lawn in glorious sunshine. For Julia and Adrian, our two helpers this year, mowing in a t-shirt was no problem at all.
The first anglers had already tried their luck in mid-April and have since returned home. Campers have also started to arrive.
On 25 April and 5 May, snow made an unexpected return.
Since then the weather has returned to normal, the sun is back and the anglers are out on the water with great success.
At the same time two years ago we rebuilt the terraces in the front row and wiped more than a few beads of sweat from our brows in the summer heat.
That is Norway as we know and love it.
Current catches range from saithe and cod to haddock and monkfish.
Michael B.-S., his son and 4 fellow fishing friends presented their “half-time result” for all interested visitors.
We are delighted for our now so successful guests – and for those who will still visit us in the coming months. I am sure no one will go home without fish.
The review of last year’s catches showed a significant increase compared to 2024. Let’s see what 2026 has in store. Even though the export allowance has been reduced to 15 kg, the joy of fishing in the wonderful surroundings of Selnes and out on the Atlantic more than makes up for it.
