Trondheim – Bangsund – Selnes
Welcome to Bangsund, at Selnes Camping, a quiet corner of Norway, off the beaten tourist track, Selnes is a place unknown to many tourists, but for those who have been here once, Selnes Camping is always a very special place.
There are few who get lost here, but there are many who have been here once and come back again and again to enjoy the beauty of nature, wildlife and the sea. Selnes is located in the middle of the Trondelag region and is easily accessible by plane via Trondheim. From Trondheim Airport, the train takes 90 minutes to Steinkjer and from here the bus takes around 60 minutes to Bangsund. But the overland route is also easy via the E6 or E3 and offers a wealth of natural beauty and sights.
Selnes Camping is a gem in Norway’s beautiful countryside. Away from Norway’s major tourist magnets, Selnes stands for peace and relaxation on the one hand and sport and activities on the other.
The two are not mutually exclusive, as hiking, cycling, water skiing and fishing are all possibilities for active recreation in Selnes.
The campsite is located directly on the Namsenfjord, 12 km from Namsos and 60 km from Steinkjer.
Our jetty, located directly on the fjord, is beautifully embedded in forests, river courses and rock massifs and is the starting point for fantastic boat and fishing trips. An Eldorado for anglers in the Namsenfjord and on the Atlantic. But also for salmon anglers, who successfully pursue their hobby every year on the many rivers in Namdalen and around Selnes, including the Namsen, Norway’s most famous salmon river.
Numerous hiking and cycling trails through untouched nature offer sights worth seeing and relaxation from everyday life. Berry and mushroom picking should not go unmentioned. One hiking trail starts directly at the Selnes Camping site and the first section leads to a small rock massif with a beautiful view of the fjord. From there, the trail continues to the high plateau of the rock with an impressive view of Namsos and across the entire fjord to the mouth of the Namsen.
There are many other excursion possibilities that are worth discovering on a trip to Selnes.
A visit to the Oasen Namsos leisure pool, built into a rock, is just as interesting as a visit to the fortifications in Utvorda.
Let yourself be surprised and enjoy the incredibly beautiful nature that Norway has to offer. Selnes is a jewel in the landscape that you will always remember.
At Senes Camping you will find everything you need for a relaxing vacation.
We offer you eleven fully equipped houses that are not lacking in comfort. The houses are designed for two, four or six people. Each house has its own terrace, living room, bedroom and bathroom. All houses are equipped with a heat pump. This allows you to determine your own living comfort on warm and cold days. Three houses have a wood-burning stove, which provides warmth and a special ambience on cool days. The SAT – connection ensures your TV evening and not to forget, each house has at least one boat and its own freezer.
For campers we have prepared some pitches with wooden slabs. Your advantage – always dry feet and a flat surface for setting up the awning, or simply a terrace under the awning. Further pitches are available on the green area and on the gravel pitch. Electricity columns provide you with a connection to the power grid.
WLAN on the pitch ensures your digital mobility if you don’t want to “switch off” completely.
A washing machine and tumble dryer are available to all guests and, of course, we can also help you if you want to freeze your fish catches.
Selnes Camping has two social buildings on the site, which you are free to use. Both buildings have a kitchen with oven, electric hob and sink with hot water supply, toilets and shower rooms. Of course, guests with physical disabilities and older guests who require ground-level access and a shower suitable for the disabled are also catered for.
Just as each of our houses has a parking lot, parking spaces are also available in front of the boathouse so that you can easily bring your equipment to the boat and your catches to the freezer.
The jetty connects the parking lot along the rock with the jetty.
Wheelbarrows are available at the boathouse for transporting your equipment, which you can “park” at the filleting area during your fishing trip to bring your catch back to the boathouse later.
The filleting facility is at your disposal after the jetty to process your catch. Fish waste is not thrown into the water at the filleting area because feeding the seagulls means that their excrement will clearly mark your boat and the jetty the following day. This makes cleaning your boat considerably more difficult.
Compliance with this regulation is therefore exclusively for your benefit and that of all other guests.
Fish waste is therefore collected and covered in a plastic tub on your boat. You can dispose of it either directly after filleting or on the day following the fishing trip at least as far as the “green pole”.
A limited number of moorings are available for guests who bring their own boat. The tidal range varies greatly depending on the time of year, regardless of the daily water change. We therefore ask you to make prior arrangements,
so that we can coordinate the berth and the time window for slipping with you.
Otherwise you may waste valuable time.
The jetty is designed so that all boats have a berth. Due to the fact that the berths are of different widths, the boats are tied to their berths and must be parked there again after leaving.
In 2023, we purchased a refueling system to give our guests complete control over their fuel consumption. Our primary aim was to increase the confidence of all guests in the billing process. We also wanted our guests to be able to decide for themselves when to fill up from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.
And finally, we wanted to decouple our guests’ dependence on our staff. This gives our guests the flexibility to organize their vacations at Selnes Camping themselves and without restrictions.
How does the refueling system work?
The refueling system is equipped with a telematics system that records every refueling process in the range of 1/10th of a liter and transmits it immediately to our IT system.
Access is via a password with which you log in to the terminal of the tank system. Press Enter once and the pump starts running. Use the nozzle to fill your fuel tank. At the end of the refueling process, log out again at the terminal.
You set the access code to the fuel terminal yourself, so that any unauthorized use is excluded. Billing is based on the fuel quantity stored in the computer, which corresponds 100% to the quantity on your “control slip”, to the nearest 1/10th of a liter.
To anticipate the question, what happens if the Internet goes down?
The tank quantities can also be read directly at the tank system for each user.
